Scientific Internship of the Faculty of the Department of Public Health at the Infectious Diseases Hospital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China

From June 1 to June 7, 2026, representatives of the Department of Public Health of the NJSC “S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University” – Acting Professor Gulshara Yergazievna Aimbetova, Associate Professor Gulshat Altaevna Begimbetova, Professor Assistant Maira Sakypkereikyzy Musina and Lecturer Manshuk Anerovna Ramazanova participated in a scientific internship at the Infectious Diseases Hospital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (The Sixth People’s Hospital of Xinjiang, Urumqi, China).

The purpose of the visit was to study modern approaches to healthcare organization, exchange experience in the field of public health, and strengthen international academic and scientific cooperation.

During the internship program, meetings were held with the hospital administration and specialists, during which the main areas of the hospital’s activities were presented. The participants discussed issues related to the prevention and control of infectious diseases, healthcare delivery, medical education, and prospects for future cooperation.

The delegation visited specialized departments, diagnostic and laboratory units, and became acquainted with modern technologies used in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, as well as the healthcare management system. Particular attention was paid to epidemiological surveillance, infection control, and the implementation of innovative technologies in healthcare practice.

Following the negotiations, both parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing long-term cooperation, implementing joint research projects, preparing joint scientific publications, promoting academic exchange of faculty members and students, and participating in international scientific and educational programs.

As a result of the internship, the participants gained valuable professional knowledge and practical experience and strengthened international ties between S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and the Infectious Diseases Hospital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China.
