Educational and methodical work

The educational and methodological work of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is carried out in accordance with the standard curricula of general education disciplines, educational programs, the University’s academic policy, the Department’s work plan, and the individual work plans of faculty members. The Department provides educational and methodological support to first-year students of all faculties of the University.

The main objective of the Department’s educational and methodological work is to develop students’ information and communication competencies, improve their level of digital literacy, develop skills in the effective application of modern information technologies in professional activities, and ensure the quality of the educational process.

The educational and methodological work of the Department is organized in the following main areas:

  • comprehensive educational and methodological support of the educational process;
  • development and updating of working curricula for academic disciplines in accordance with educational programs;
  • development of syllabi, educational and methodological complexes, and learning materials for academic disciplines;
  • preparation of educational and methodological materials for lectures, practical and laboratory classes;
  • development of assignments and methodological guidelines for students’ independent work and students’ independent work under the guidance of an instructor;
  • preparation of teaching aids, methodological guidelines, and electronic learning materials for academic disciplines;
  • organization of peer observation of classes by Department faculty members and analysis of teaching sessions;
  • implementation of modern and innovative teaching methods;
  • effective use of information and communication technologies and digital technologies in the educational process;
  • use of multimedia technologies, cloud services, interactive platforms, and digital educational resources;
  • development of test items, assessment questions, and practical assignments for formative, midterm, and final assessment of students’ knowledge;
  • development of students’ ability to apply acquired knowledge through solving situational and practical problems;
  • development of students’ digital literacy and their skills in searching for, analyzing, evaluating, and safely using information;
  • development of educational materials aimed at the effective and responsible use of artificial intelligence tools in the educational process;
  • systematic updating of course content in accordance with current educational requirements and trends in the development of digital technologies;
  • internal quality control and continuous improvement of educational and methodological materials;
  • analysis of students’ learning outcomes and revision of educational and methodological materials based on the results obtained;
  • creating opportunities for faculty professional development, experience sharing, and the acquisition of modern teaching technologies;
  • organization of open classes, methodological seminars, workshops, and professional experience-sharing activities;
  • ensuring objectivity and transparency in the assessment of students’ learning outcomes;
  • development and updating of electronic educational resources;
  • implementation of elements of distance and blended learning in the educational process;
  • use of Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms in organizing the educational process.

Internet resources, electronic libraries, multimedia technologies, interactive educational platforms, and digital services are widely used in the methodological support of the educational process and students’ independent work.

The Department’s faculty members use various methods to assess students’ knowledge and learning outcomes. These include test assignments, practical work, situational problem-solving, individual and group assignments, project-based work, presentations, oral questioning, and other forms of assessment.

The Department systematically updates its educational and methodological materials. Course content is supplemented with new topics related to the development of modern information technologies, digital transformation, and the application of digital technologies in healthcare.
