Specialists from both near and far abroad are regularly invited to conduct lectures and seminars.
From December 2nd, 2021, to December 15th, 2021, a visiting professorship program was conducted at the Department of Communicative Skills, featuring a series of lectures on clinical psychology by the foreign specialist Tatiana Nikolaevna Listopad (Tallinn, Estonia). The course, totaling 72 hours, comprised 10 hours of lectures, 44 hours of seminars, 12 hours of consultations, and 6 hours of a master class.
The main objective of the program was to provide students with knowledge about the brain mechanisms of higher mental functions in humans, disturbances in basic mental functions and behavior in general, criteria for the norm and pathology of mental activity, as well as methods and means of compensating for and restoring the norm. A total of 150 students from the faculties of General Medicine, Therapeutic Faculty, and Pediatric Faculty, as well as 20 master’s students and 12 postgraduate students, participated in the training. The teaching process included discussions and analysis of clinical cases, as well as solving practical tasks using methods and tools of clinical psychology.
From December 6th, 2022, to December 23rd, 2022, as part of the visiting professor program at the Department of Communicative Skills, a course on “Training Resilience and Uncertainty Management” was conducted by the foreign specialist Agnieszka Jagiełło-Rusiłowska (Gdańsk, Poland). The 72-hour course was held in a blended format, both online and offline, and consisted of 30 hours of lectures and 42 hours of practical sessions.
The main objective of the sessions was to teach students psycho-emotional resilience and how to manage uncertain situations. A total of 150 students from the faculties of General Medicine, Dentistry, 20 master’s students, and 10 postgraduate students participated in the training. The students, especially the master’s students, showed a high level of engagement in the learning process, asked many questions, and actively participated in exercises and role-playing scenarios.
From April 22nd, 2024, to April 26th, 2024, as part of the academic exchange program between the Tashkent State Dental Institute and S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, teachers from Uzbekistan conducted a series of sessions with students at the Department of Communicative Skills. With Rustamova Nodira Rustamovna and Raupova Shokhida Akhrorovna, discussions were held regarding further fruitful cooperation between the universities and departments, including sharing experiences, writing joint articles, participating in conferences, etc.
International cooperation of the Department of Communication Skills in 2025–2026 was carried out in the areas of academic mobility of faculty members, international scientific and educational exchange, organization of international scientific and practical events, and development of contractual partnerships with foreign universities.
In 2025, an academic mobility program was implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) and the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA).
In 2026, an academic mobility program was implemented in the Republic of Armenia at Yerevan State Medical University named after Mkhitar Heratsi. As a result of the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation and a bilateral academic mobility program were signed.
The Department also continues its international cooperation in the development of patient-centered communication within the international network established through the Erasmus+ FOR21 project.
International cooperation aims to enhance the quality of education, establish relationships with departments of foreign universities, establish contacts, enhance the image of scientific and teaching activities, and develop personal qualities of staff, such as communication skills and overcoming language barriers.
