Research work

International scientific projects implemented at the Department:

1. The Project “Tracking energy diversification, pollution and fertility outcomes in Kazakhstan” has been launched by the Embassy of the United States of America in Kazakhstan. The main coordinator of the Project is Hyunok Choi (Lehigh University, USA), coordinator from KazNMU Kosherbayeva L. This project involves Associate Professor of the Department of Health Policy and Management Kumar A and a 1-year doctoral student in the specialty “Public Health” Sabyrdilda Zh. and a 2-year master’s student in the educational program “Global Health and Healthcare” Egeubaev T.
2. Undergraduates of nursing under the guidance of associate professors of the department (Abikulova A., Kumar A., Seiduanova L.) participate in the implementation of a joint project with Lehigh University, USA. The aim of the Project is to study the awareness of patients with chronic diseases about the impact of air pollution on their health, as well as adherence to preventive measures. The main coordinator is Dinissa Duvanova, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations at Lehigh University, USA, coordinator from KazNMU Kosherbayeva L.;
3. Master’s student Imamitdinova A.N. under the educational program “Global health and healthcare” participates in the project – “Development of technology for assessing the effectiveness of the healthcare system in the intersectoral context and its impact in the context of regions” (IRN AP09058136 MES RK -2021-2023)
4. “SPRING 609528-EPP-1-2019-1- GE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP” for 2020-2022 ERASMUS + Project Coordinator L.K.Kosherbayeva
5. License, Master’s Degree in Education and Remote management of quality strategy and risk management in Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan – LMQS ERASMUS (Project No. 618860-EPP-1-2020-1- EL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) – Coordinator Hasenova A.Zh.

As part of the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan to attract foreign specialists, the department was visited:
– Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor Armen Gasparyan, University of Birmingham, Bermingham, England. Program topic: “Scientific and pedagogical management in public health in modern conditions”;
– MD, MScIH, PhD, Lorena Dini, Charity – University Medicine Berlin. Program topic: “Global Healthcare and the German healthcare system”;
– Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Vaiciulis Vidmantas, Lithuanian University of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Public Health, Kaunas, Lithuania. The theme of the program is “Inequality in health care”.

Within the framework of project-based training, the department conducts research work with students in various specialties: “GP”, “Surgical diseases”, “Internal diseases”, “Obstetrics and gynecology”, “Children’s diseases”. According to the results of research work with students, 10 articles have been published in journals recommended by the MoES RK.
The staff of the department are the scientific supervisors of 6 doctoral students and 11 undergraduates
The staff of the department has published more than 50 articles recommended by the MoES RK, 9 articles in international peer-reviewed journals.

Professional development, participation in conferences of the department staff:
– All employees of the department have completed online training on the topic: “Global Health” (November-December) organized jointly with the Canadian Association for Global Health, the WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) for Knowledge Translation, Technology Assessment for Health Equity, the Bruyere Research Institute (BRI) and the University of Ottawa);
– Training on the topic: “Management of Health Services Administration” organized by MASHAV Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jerusalem;
– Participation with an oral report at the conference Days of Science and Innovation, organized by the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibn Sino;
– The head of the department participated as a speaker of workshop virtual – HTAi 2020,2021 “The Use Of Evidence-Informed Deliberative Processes For Health Technology Assessment In Low and Middle Income Countries” on the topic “Practical application of Evidence-Informed Deliberative Processes – Role of advisory committee/stakeholder involvement in Kazakhstan”;
– SPRING Project, Defining Tools and Objectives for Peer Review in Medical Education, Kosherbaeva L.K., Laryushina E.M. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. The Republic of Kazakhstan June 2, 2021;
– Kosherbaeva L. Poster report of the Canadian Conference on Global Health Delta, Ottawa & virtual, (November 24-26, 2021). Title of the thesis: Health policy assessment in Kazakhstan in intersectoral and regional perspectives;
