Professor Rahim from Iran is the Director of the Research Center of Cihan University, Sulaymaniyah, the author of more than 540 scientific publications, one of the 1% of the most cited scientists in the world with an H-index of 71.
Dr Don Prisno is Editor-in-Chief of Public Health Challenges (Wiley) and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of BMC Global Health Research and Policy, Q1/IF of 8.7, Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and author of over 200 publications with an H-index of 35.
During the visit, visiting professors discussed issues of priority areas of modern research in the field of Global Health, as well as issues regarding the development of publication potential and features of writing scientific papers. An understanding of these current problems was achieved through a series of lectures and master classes by visiting professors on the following topics:
- Research in Education;
- Publications in international academic journals;
- How to find the best journal for your manuscript;
- Filling global data gaps on Central Asia;
- Dynamics of Global Health and inequality;
- Global Health economics and health technology assessment;
- Career in Global Health;
- Climate change and Global Health.
The professors’ lectures aroused keen interest and great interest among teaching staff and students, including foreign ones. Additional consultation meetings were held with interested teachers of related disciplines.
During the visit prof. F. Rahim initiated and began the following research projects with teaching staff and students of NAO KazNMU:
- Vape and health (exit – article);
- Heavy metal and trace elements in ice tea (output – article);
- Special issues on CA research (output – article);
- CA Public Health research and education hub (website, publications, increasing the scientific reputation of KazNMU);
- Research in Microbiology: A meta-analysis of preclinical studies about the effect of spray-dried porcine plasma on microbiota composition (output – article);
- Phenomics: A meta-analysis of preclinical studies about the effect of spray-dried porcine plasma on microbiota composition (output – article).
Professor Don Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III in the future proposed a special issue in the journal Public Health Challenges or BMC Global Health Research and Policy, Q1/IF of 8.7 on research in Central Asia, which will help disseminate the research of NJSC KazNMU among an international readership and expert audience. The special issue will be followed by a session at the World Health Summit in Berlin in 2024. This conference is a continuation of the WHO meeting, which will disseminate KazNMU research among the international, highly cited international community. This will open up opportunities for KazNMU to collaborate with foreign experts and organizations.
An agreement was concluded with the professors to supervise young scientists, master’s and doctoral students to improve their skills in preparing high-quality publications.
