Academic Mobility to the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy

From April 6 to April 18, 2026, representatives of the Department of Nursing of S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University — Head of the Department Makhambetkulova D.N., Associate Professors Seidumanov S.T. and Indershiev A.M. — visited the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy במסגרת the academic mobility program.

The visit was organized to strengthen international cooperation and exchange experience in the training of nursing professionals, based on a memorandum of cooperation between the institutions.

During the visit, meetings were held with the academy’s leadership, faculty members, and representatives of the professional community, including Rector Prof. Kudaibergenova D.O., Dean of the Faculty of Higher Nursing Education Kulukeeva A.T., Head of the Nursing Department Associate Professor Kurmanalieva Z.B., Head of the Public Health Department Prof. Aidarov Z.A., Head of the Nursing Department of Kyrgyz International University Associate Professor Kushbakeeva A.K., and other specialists.

Key topics discussed included modernization of nursing education, implementation of innovative technologies, and improving the quality of nursing training. A meeting was also held with Prof. Katarzyna Strala-Osuch, Rector of the Academy of Applied Sciences (Gdańsk, Poland), who was on an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, where issues of cooperation were discussed.

Lectures on modern technologies and current trends in nursing were delivered to students of various years of the Nursing program at KSMA.

Our specialists also participated in the international scientific and practical conference held  “KSMA Science Days – 2026”.

To gain insight into the nursing education system in Kyrgyzstan, a visit was made to the Bishkek Medical College, where meetings with the administration and staff were held, along with ознакомление with educational programs, material and technical resources, and infrastructure.

At the initiative of the Department of Nursing of KazNMU, a seminar was organized within the framework of the project “Practice of Primary Health Care Nurses in Central Asian Countries.” Specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan took part in the seminar.

As a result of the visit, agreements were reached on expanding cooperation, implementing joint research projects, and introducing innovative educational solutions.
