The purpose of the visit: to discuss the current state and promising areas of the international research project «Impacts on Diabetic Foot Ulcer Formation» in Kazakhstan, as well as strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between Nagoya University and KazNMU.

During the visit, Yukari Takeno:

• visited the Municipal Polyclinic № 6 in Almaty, where she got acquainted with the organization and functioning of the nursing service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as with the practical aspects of the activities of nurses in primary health care;
• took part in the section «Nursing education: preparation of future leaders» within the framework of the International scientific and practical conference “Public health in the era of global changes”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Professor A.R. Chokina, where she held discussions with Kazakh and foreign colleagues;
• Discussed with the teachers of the «Nursing Department» methodological issues of joint scientific research and exchange of experience in the training of specialists in the nursing field.

The visit of Yukari Takeno became an important step in the expansion of international partnership, exchange of knowledge and implementation of best practices in the system of nursing education and science in Kazakhstan.
