Internship of a 3rd-year PhD candidate from the Faculty of Public Health at S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University in collaboration with Binghamton University, State University of New York

 

Abilkasym Dana Anuarkyzy, a 3rd-year PhD candidate from the Faculty of Public Health at S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, successfully completed an overseas internship at Binghamton University, State University of New York, from March 1, 2024, to April 5, 2024.

This internship program was specially designed for doctoral candidates and aimed at demonstrating international practices in the field of public health. The practical part of the internship included visits to the university, library, and campus of public health. During the research internship, archival data on heart transplant patients were studied.

Throughout the internship, the candidate met with an international academic supervisor, familiarized herself with the university’s facilities, the latest technologies used in the university, and took part in guided tours of the structural units of Binghamton University.

The candidate attended master classes and lectures by university leaders and was introduced to the healthcare and medical insurance system in the United States, software, human resource management policies, and certification systems.

Upon completion of the overseas internship, the candidate was ceremoniously awarded an international certificate and a letter of recommendation.
