2024–2025 Academic Year
In the 2024–2025 academic year, department staff took part in five research projects funded by the university and by public and private organizations. For the first time, the department received a university grant for its own study, “The Relationship of Students’ Academic Performance with Psychological Well-Being and Self-Esteem”. Work on the project continued the following academic year.
According to the annual report for the 2024–2025 academic year, 33 articles and abstracts were published. Staff published in Scopus-indexed journals, in journals recommended by the authorized body of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in conference proceedings. The report also lists two monographs and one patent obtained.
2025–2026 Academic Year
In the 2025–2026 academic year, department staff took part in four research projects. The research covers students’ psychological well-being, mathematical methods, HIV prevention and healthcare organization.
- KazNMU intramural grant “The Relationship of Students’ Academic Performance with Psychological Well-Being and Self-Esteem”. In the reporting year, a survey of all third-year students was conducted.
- State grant of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Research on a Class of Integral Operators and Their Applications”, hosted by L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
- State grant of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Scientific Rationale for Improving the Prevention of HIV Transmission among Users of New Psychoactive Substances in Kazakhstan under Current Conditions”, carried out jointly with the Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Inter-university project of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University “Reducing Socio-Economic Inequality in Kazakhstan’s Regions through Investment in Health and Improved Healthcare System Organization”.
During the reporting period, 36 scientific works were published:
- 12 articles in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, in Q1–Q3 quartile journals;
- 5 articles in journals recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- 4 articles in other scientific journals and conference proceedings;
- 1 abstract in an international publication;
- 14 abstracts and papers in the proceedings of international and national scientific and practical conferences.
Copyright certificate No. 55574 was obtained for “A Questionnaire for Studying the Risks of HIV Transmission among Users of New Psychoactive Substances”.
Research findings were presented at two international conferences: the Advances in Medical Research and Practice Conference at Tashkent State Medical University in October 2025 (poster presentation) and “ANaMed Forum – New Generation 2026” at S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU (oral presentation).
