Kazakhstan–Azerbaijan: Professional Nursing Associations Strengthen Cooperation

On November 27, 2025, an international conference on sharing experience in multi-level nursing training opened at S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU and leading medical colleges of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Representatives of medical educational institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan took part in the conference.

The purpose of the conference is to discuss modern approaches to nursing education, share best practices, and strengthen professional ties between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

Special attention is given to the following issues:

  • multi-level training models in nursing;
  • the role of nurses in the healthcare systems of both countries;
  • new formats of international cooperation in education and practice.

The conference program includes:

  • a round table on key trends in nursing education;
  • presentations of educational programs and innovative teaching methods;
  • discussion of prospects for joint projects and academic mobility.

Among the conference participants are:

  • representatives of the Almaty Public Health Department, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and KazNMU;
  • directors and instructors of medical colleges in Almaty, Taraz, Shymkent, Taldykorgan, Talgar, as well as private colleges;
  • a delegation from the Azerbaijan Medical University and Azerbaijan medical colleges.

The conference served as a dialogue platform that brings together the experience, knowledge, and professional values of both countries. The development of nursing, improving the quality of nurse training, and strengthening their role in the healthcare system are shared goals that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are working together to achieve.
